1. Material

• Aluminium Alloy: 6063-T6

• Standard: ASTM B221 / EN 573 / EN 755

• Minimum Yield Strength: ≥ 215 MPa

2. Member Description

P2 – Secondary Aluminium Post / Column

• Section: Square / Rectangular Hollow Section (as per approved drawings)

• Typical Size: 75 × 75 × 3 mm (unless noted otherwise)

• Function: Secondary vertical support member

• Height & Spacing: As per structural and shop drawings

• Maximum Allowable Slenderness Ratio: As per Eurocode 9

3. Base Connection

• Base Plate:

  • Material: Aluminium or Hot-Dip Galvanized Steel

  • Thickness: 6–8 mm

• Anchors:

  • Type: Stainless Steel SS304 / SS316 anchor bolts

  • Fixing: Mechanical or chemical anchors into concrete

• Isolation pad to be provided to prevent galvanic corrosion

4. Fabrication

• Shop-fabricated, accurately cut and drilled

• All edges smooth and free of burrs

• Welding (if required): TIG welding in accordance with AWS D1.2

• Free from cracks, dents, twists, or surface defects

5. Connections

• Connection to beams (L1 / L2) via bolted and/or welded joints as shown in drawings

• Fasteners: Stainless Steel SS304 / SS316

• All fixings corrosion-resistant

6. Surface Finish

• Powder Coating: Minimum 60–80 microns, polyester based
  OR

• Anodizing: Minimum 20–25 microns

• Color and texture as approved by Architect

• UV and corrosion resistant

7. Installation

• Installed plumb, level, and aligned

• Verticality tolerance: ±3 mm over full height

• Protective film removed after completion
